The Story
Enter the gripping saga of Neir, a world that has endured the unimaginable aftermath of a Divine War. With the sun god Laon’s fall, mortals were left to confront the relentless Darkness, fighting against insurmountable odds. But in the midst of despair, a formidable and enigmatic magic emerged, allowing life to persist in the face of utter devastation.
As time passed, the survivors learned to adapt to their twisted environment. The animal and plant species of the Underdark have taken over, and the trees have given way to the forests of giant bioluminescent mushrooms. Former foes have been forced to unite against new threats, and the mystical forges of Daragoss churn out objects and weapons that grant sight in the unforgiving darkness. Meanwhile, those who once thrived on sunlight are forced to adapt or face extinction, while the ruthless children of the night assert their dominance through brutal force.
In this distorted world, humanity struggles to survive, fiercely defending themselves by hunting meteors – powerful relics of divine nature that continue to plummet to earth as remnants of the harrowing Celestial War. GAME MECHANICS
Pursue Power with True Magic
Among scholars practitioners of the arcane arts, the expression True Magic is used to describe ancient and powerful spells, such as to perform real wonders after long and laborious practices. Their use is a secret that can only be obtained through arduous research and great dangers.
Play as a Meteor Hunter
Meteors are special artifacts that fall from the world of the gods onto the mortal lands, bringing incalculable riches to some, but doom to others.
Pick Your Curse
When the goddess Iliar witnessed the disrespect shown by mortals toward nature, she threw the curse of lycanthropy onto them. Thousands of years have passed, civilizations have risen and fallen but the curse of lycanthropy survives and in many animal shapes: from the starry skies above to the dark depths of the ocean, were-creatures roam the world. To each animal type correspond special powers and vulnerabilities… what will you become when the curse bites you?
Turn Into a Living God
On Neir the gods are not abstract entities completely indifferent to the destiny of mortals. Their very existence depends on the degree of devotion they enjoy: the greater the number of the faithful, the greater the source of energy they can draw from to continue fighting the Celestial War. Part of this power is in turn used to answer the prayers of the faithful through blessings and miracles, thus triggering a link between the Dimension of Spirit and Matter. Thanks to Divine Inspiration you will be able to draw enormous power, in some cases assuming the avatar of your god.
Join the Never Sleeping Army
On Neir there is no limit to the paths you can take. You can fight the darkness or join it by transforming yourself into a predator of the night. We turned the vampire into a playable and balanced archetype, adding the mechanic of the Blood Bond that allows you to control your vampiric spawn.
Conjure Heroes of Old
In addition to the conjuring spells described in the PHB, La Notte Eterna gives the opportunity of conjuring the ancient heroes of Neir through Sphere Magic. The mechanic requires historical or legendary knowledge of the heroes you want to conjure and an object or relic that belonged to them. The spellcaster can decide whether to conjure heroes to the fullest of their faculties – thus leaving them independent in their judgment and action – or to limit the power they had in life in order to keep them under control.

EMBRACE THE DARKNESS
A 20-year journey
Nearly two decades have passed since author Jason R. Forbus first penned the tale of La Notte Eterna. Originally published in Italian for the T20 system in 2010, it left an indelible mark in the hearts of its fervent fans. However, as life and new projects took precedence, La Notte Eterna was consigned to an archivist’s drawer, patiently waiting in the darkness…yet still gleaming.
In 2021, we made the decision to resurrect this cherished campaign, meticulously piecing together notes and ideas accumulated over time. The result was a painstaking conversion of La Notte Eterna to the 5e system, with expanded world-building, new mechanics, subclasses, backgrounds, monsters, magic items, spells, and more. Every aspect of the campaign has been thoroughly tested by experienced players in numerous groups and game conventions across Italy, where it has consistently garnered enthusiastic praise.
